Things are really going well. All the stuff I'm takin down there is fitting nicely on the bike. I have to still adjust my chain and pack some clothes. I'm trying to get all my food/cooking stuff in one area on the bike, in the topcase would be nice. I'm still undecided on pants, whether to bring more than one pair. Once in the baja I'm hoping shorts will be needed. I just can't see needing two pairs, so we will see what happens Tuesday when I get on the bike...

I Can't Wait!
Once in a while you are allowed the opportunity to do something out of the ordinary. In my case that is a solo motorcycle trip from my home town in Olympia, WA to the southern tip of Baja, Mex.
My goal is to leave Tuesday, Feb.2nd, arrive in San Jose del Cabo on Tuesday, Feb.23rd. Along the way I will visit many places, meet people, camp all over the place, and travel solo through Mexico until I meet up with family in Cabo.
My bike is a 1996 Kawasaki GPZ1100 with 26,800miles on the clock. I bought the bike in may of '09 and have put almost 10000 miles on it. It will be my camping companion on this trip. I hope it gets me where I want to go!
I will be back home the during the first couple of weeks in march, I really don't have a specific date yet. I am new to blogs and will try to keep photos and storis coming frequently.
I have heard my share of why I shouldn't do this including having my head shrunk to being made somebodies slave. Well I could use a few fractions of an inch off the old noggin and anyone who wants to enslave me will soon find out I am not that attentive or willing to do do things for others. So for now I will focus on things that do matter, like, my bike not breaking down, having food and water, toilet paper, batteries in my headlamp, music for my ears and other trip stuff.
